What is numerology?
Numerology starts from a simple idea: every number carries a quality, and that quality shows up in whatever it touches. A first name, a date of birth, an address, a time caught by chance on a screen, all of it can be brought back to a number, and that number says something. The practice goes back to Pythagoras, who saw numbers as the very structure of reality, and has run through Hebrew, Arabic and Western traditions ever since without ever really stopping.
The whole reading rests on one operation: reduction. You add the digits of a number until a single one is left, between 1 and 9. So 444 becomes 4 + 4 + 4 = 12, then 1 + 2 = 3. Those nine digits form the basic alphabet: 1 for impulse, 2 for relation, 3 for expression, 4 for construction, 5 for movement, 6 for harmony, 7 for search, 8 for power, 9 for completion. Everything else comes back to them.
Two exceptions stop the reduction: 11 and 22, known as master numbers. When the calculation lands on one of them you stop there, because tradition reads them as carrying more charge than their reduction. The 11 amplifies the intuition of the 2, the 22 amplifies the builder of the 4. That is why the pages run up to 22: the numbers 10 to 21 can be read directly, but only 1 to 9, 11 and 22 can come out of a calculation.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a digit and a number?
A digit is a single sign, from 0 to 9, like a letter of the alphabet. A number is what those digits build: 11 and 22 are numbers written with two digits. In numerology the distinction matters, because reduction brings almost everything back to a digit between 1 and 9, apart from the master numbers, which keep their two-digit form.
How do you reduce a number to a single digit?
You add its digits, then start again as long as the result is above 9. For 1987: 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25, then 2 + 5 = 7. The only possible stops are 11 and 22, which are kept as they are. You can type any number into the search field, the reduction is done for you and the full working is shown.
What are master numbers?
11 and 22 are the two numbers reduction leaves intact. They read as intensified versions of their reduction: the 11 pushes the intuition of the 2 towards vision, the 22 pushes the method of the 4 towards building at scale. That intensity has a downside, which each page spells out. Some schools add 33, which the method used here brings back to 6.
How do numbers relate to mirror hours?
A mirror hour reduces to a number through the same operation: 11:11 gives 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4, and 22:22 gives 8. It is one of the three readings of an hour caught by chance, alongside the angelic and the symbolic reading. The two applications answer each other directly.
Where should I start?
There are two ways in. If you are after the meaning of a specific number, type it in or pick a digit on the globe. If you want the number that belongs to you, work out your life path from your date of birth: it is the central number of numerology, and it opens the page that concerns you.
