Calculate your life path

The number your date of birth points to

The life path is the central number of numerology. It follows from your date of birth and describes the road you came here to walk: your natural resources, the trials that keep returning and the direction that makes you coherent. Enter your date above, the result is immediate.

What is the life path?

In numerology every person carries several numbers. The life path is the most important of them: it depends neither on your first name nor on your surname, only on the day you were born. That is why it counts as stable, where the expression number shifts with legal identity. Read it as a general orientation, not as a prediction.

How do you calculate your life path?

The calculation comes down to three operations. You can redo it by hand to check what the calculator returns.

  1. Take the day and the month

Keep them as they are, without reducing them. The 14th stays 14, March stays 3.

  2. Reduce the year

    Add up the digits of the birth year. For 1990: 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19.

  3. Add, then reduce

Sum the three values, then add the digits of the total until a single digit is left.

Example: 14 March 1990

Day 14, month 3.

Year: 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19

14 + 3 + 19 = 36

3 + 6 = 9. The life path is 9.

The master numbers 11 and 22

One exception stops the reduction. If the total lands on 11 or on 22, it stays there instead of dropping to 2 or 4. These two master numbers read as intensified versions of their reduction, with the potential and the weight that come with it. They are the only two-digit life paths you can get.

Frequently asked questions

Does the life path change over a lifetime?

No. It is fixed by the date of birth and stays the same for life. What does move is the personal year, recalculated every year from that same date.

Can 33 be a life path?

Some schools add 33 to the master numbers. With the method used here only 11 and 22 stop the reduction, so a total of 33 comes back down to 6.

What if I do not know my time of birth?

It plays no part in the calculation. The life path only needs the day, the month and the year, unlike a birth chart, which needs the time and the place.
